you have to calculate the formal charges of all the elements in the compound and the smaller the number is the more stable the structure is.

One of the most important thing to remember when it comes to dilution is that the moles of the solute do not change before and after dilution. So in this particular problem, you just need to find out how many moles of substance X is in 10ml of the solution. Let me know if you have any questions.

I think it helps me when I start with the element that's "not common", which means I personally would leave C,H,O to be the last ones to take care of. In other words, I normally start with metal, or just that one or to elements that are not in every single reactant and product.
