How do you know which chemical is the spectator in a equation? Are there certain qualities or signs that show it is a spectator?

When dealing with titrations and given the Kb one can solve for the Ka and vise versa. When solving for a problem dealing with acids and bases will it always state if it is dealing with either a strong or weak acid or base?

What I find helpful is whichever side either (products or reactants of the equation) has an intial of 0 M is the side that will need X amount increase so a +X while the amount that has a known intial amount will be -X to decrease that side. I'm not entirely sure if this helps but it helps me

I couldn't agree more with Ben. Pacing myself is something I personally feel like I need to work on. As well as writing small is a great tip especially because writing in pen is preferred.
