### Re: HW 1.25 (b)

Think about it this way... In the question part A, we were looking for the energy of one photon given the wavelength. With this information we then could use E=hc/λ to get 3.37 x 10^-19. However, in part B we are given how much Sodium is present in mg. Now we are being asked to find the energy of mu...

### Formulas[ENDORSED]

Hi guys! In lecture we were given the formula En=-hR/n^2 and in the book v=R(1/n2^2-1/n1^2). What is the difference between these two formulas and in what cases would I use them?

### Re: Question 1.23

Hi Esin,

An electron volt, symbolized as eV, is a unit of energy. It is equal to approximately 1.6x10^-19 joules (J). One eV is equal to the amount of energy one electron aquires by accelerating, from a resting state, through a potential difference of one volt.

Hope this helps!

### HW Problem E35

Hello friends, The problem is: If all the hydroxyapatite is converted into fluorapatite by what percent does this conversion increase the mass of the enamel? The molar mass of hydroxyapatite is 502 g/mol and fluorapatite is 504 I started this problem by finding the difference between these and got 2...
