Re: Rate Determining
If they give you graphs with activation energy, the graph with the higher activation energy will be slower than the other bc it will take longer and more energy to carry out the reaction.

Work = 0 in free expansion because there is no external pressure applied, so P=0 and therefore w=0. Since ΔU = 0, that means that q=0 as well, so no heat is transferred into the surroundings.

Re: When to use ICE table?
You can use ICE tables for finding equilibrium concentrations and initial concentrations but you can also use them to find the pH of an acid or base. For instance, to find the pH, you would do -log(x) where x is the change in concentration (C part of the ICE table).

SiO2 forms a covalent network, and is not molecular. Silicon dioxide does not form individual molecules, and there are no double bonds. Silicon dioxide forms a tetrahedral network of silicon atoms bonded to 4 oxygen atoms so as a whole (if there were 4 Si-O bonds), then the system as a whole would b...

Both series apply to the Hydrogen atom. For the Balmer series (corresponds to visible light), the electrons come to rest at the energy level n=1. Meanwhile, the Lyman series corresponds to UV light and its electrons come to rest at the energy level n=2.
