Why isn't it ln(k2, k1)=Ea/R((1/T1)-(1/T2)? Thats what I used and got the same answer as the solutions manual.

Yes, it would still be an intermediate because it helped to promote the reaction to the next step and is not a final product in the overall reaction.

For part c, shouldn’t you get on (0.15) when subtracting the natural log of the concentrations instead of ln (1/0.15)?

You have to cool it down to find the standard entropy of vaporization for 85 degrees not 100.

We use Cv because N2 is an ideal gas, so we used 5/2R because N2 is diatomic. My TA said that the answer in the solutions manual was wrong. Hope this helps!

Closed system. The ice pack can still exchange heat with its surroundings (keeping a sandwich in your lunch bag cold), but it cannot exchange matter.

If you name a compound using the UPAC method (bromido rather than bromo) and then name CN- with a bond on the nitrogen "isocyano" (as seen in the book) would that be considered breaking the rules? Should you call it "isocyanido" to be consistent with the UPAC naming system?

So the back of the book has two different ways of arriving at the fact that 2,4,6 trichlorophenol. Is it enough to just look at which compound has a greater Ka value or do we need to know that the chlorine atoms have a greater withdrawing power?

How do you know that the shape of (CH3)2Be is tetrahedral? I got that the central atom was Be and it had 4 regions of e- density but 2/4 regions were electron pairs.

I got that 3 Hydrogens are bonded to Carbon and Carbon also shares a single bond with Sulfur. Sulfur has 2 sets of lone pairs. Hydrogen is bonded to Sulfur. Carbon is the least electronegative, so it is the central atom. With this configuration the formal charge for each element is 0.

For 3p, you know that n=3 and the fact that it's in the p-orbital indicates that l=1. Therefore, there are 3 values for ml. 1,0,-1.
