I think theoretically, this is true - you could get a larger and larger wavelength as velocity decreases, but velocity would have to be so small that it would be impossible to detect.

When you use the Rydberg formula, always do n final minus n initial . Dr. Lavelle used the example during class of temperature, where you use the final temperature minus the initial temperature to measure the change. The same can be said of money. If you start with 5 dollars and end up with 3 dolla...

Re: What is a node?

So my understanding of it is that a node is where the wavefunction passes through zero - meaning it goes from positive to negative or vice versa - rather than just hitting zero and going back the way it came, as though reflected (not changing sign). So while a wavefunction can equal zero, it doesn't...

I haven't taken it yet so I'm not 100% sure but I believe it's just chapter 1 up until 1.5, meaning it stops at de Broglie's equation. So no, there shouldn't be questions concerning the Heisenberg indeterminacy equation or Schrodinger's wave function.

It depends - you can do 1/(n initial) minus 1/(n final) or you can do negative [1/(n final) minus 1/(n initial)]. It's the negative delta n, if that's easier for you to remember. Hope that helps!

The solutions manual doesn't multiply the energy per photon and the number of Joules that will be emitted in 2 seconds, it divides the number of joules emitted in 2 seconds by the energy per photon, which cancels out Joules and leaves you with the number of photons. Hope this helps!
