I think the route im going to go with is the use of hw problems as a guide also. Ive taken this class before but dropped it shortly after the first exam, the questions were very similar to the hw problems.

Im sure there are other reasons for sig figs being important, but from what ive gotten they are significant when trying to decide the degree of uncertainty. They allow for more accurate measurements and answers. Hope this helps.
