I'm not sure exactly how to word this, but when balancing a redox reaction that takes place in a basic solution, water is placed on both sides of the reaction. In the solution manual, sometimes the water is cancelled out, and other times water is kept on both sides of the equation. Is there a reason...

C- is considered passing I believe. If you get a D+ though you will still get credit from the course but will not be able to move in the series. That was the case for 14A and I would assume it would be similar for this course as well.

Cp/Cv formulas

On the formula sheet,Cp=(5/2)R. In the book, this is only true in regards to atoms, but for linear molecules its stated at Cp=(7/2)R. In the example 4C.1 for 7th addition they use (7/2). Cv is similar with Cv=(3/2)R and (5/2)R for linear molecules. When do you know which equation to use?
