No Proton Transferred? HW Problem

How do I know there's no proton transferred in this equation? I'm lost because I thought there were protons moving around to different components of the equation?

S-Character and Bond Angle Relationship

What does "as the s-character of a hybrid orbital increases, the bond angle increases" mean? Because sp2 = trigonal planar so bond angle is 120, and then when you go up to sp3= tetrahedral so bond angle decreases to 109.5 So my question is what does s-character mean exactly?? Does s-charac...

When drawing the tetrahedral structure do we have to draw the black triangle or a dashed triangle to represent hydrogen bonds to a central atom for example as showed in some of the solutions in the solutions book (EX: 4.3) or can I just normally draw a straight line as the bond?

Basically, hybridization results from orbital overlap. To figure out the hybridization of an atom, you basically count the "things" (atoms and lone pairs only) surrounding an atom-- not including the central atom. So if there are 2 things surrounding a central atom then its sp. 3 things- s...

Exactly what the above comment said. Half full and full shells are more stable than ones that are not. Thus, Cr and Cu since they are one away from being half full or full, we go ahead and put their d shell as 3d5 and 3d10 and then take away an electron from their 4s2 to make it 4s1.
