Re: Ionic Equations and net ionic equation
You are right the complete ionic equation has the ions written out separately. The net ionic equation removes the ions that are the same on the reactants and products side.

Re: Help on 3.39
I had trouble with a similar type of lewis structure. To begin with ammonium has a positive charge and chlorine has a negative charge. That indicates that there is no bond between them. So you can go ahead and draw the lewis structures for each without a bond, and remember since its an ionic bond th...

Re: Protons are lewis acids?
Lewis acids are H+ protons because they are the ones who are able to receive an electron pair. There are some metal complexes that are also acids, but then again they become acids after dissociation.

Re: How do I start a Lewis structure?
You should first calculate the total number of valence electrons then determine the least electronegative atom and make that your central atom. Hydrogen is never a central atom.

You can think of resonance as the other possible ways that the electrons are in a compound. They can help you see the most correct drawing of a structure.

Re: KCl Lewis formula
A way in which you can evaluate which gives or receives is when you evaluate the element on its own, in this case Cl has a higher ionization energy than K, so it is more likely/easier for Cl to receive an electron to satisfy the octet rule than K

Re: electron config in the "d" sublevel
I think you fill in the 4s level before the 3d level because the 3d level has a slightly higher energy than the 4s sub level.
