Is there any easy way to identify a strong acid or strong base besides just memorizing them?

Re: Calculating pH and the pOH
You could find the pH of the hydronium and then subtract that value from 14. This is because the pH and the pOH should add up to 14.

Just to clarify, then is it only called a chelate if it has an extra ring?
Re: Naming
I think it depends where its located. If it is supposed to be written based on the bond as OH2 then you write it as that and vice versa.

Re: Test 3
Is he done teaching the material for the test? Or will we learn more of the stuff on the test on Monday? Im wondering this too because in the past he has put questions having to do with the lecture, the day before the test. I have my TA discussion Tuesday so its super early in the week. Mine is on ...

I do not think we actually have to calculate bone lengths. It is similar to the bond angle concept of just knowing that it is slightly less than 109.5 degrees.

Re: Molecular Shape
I think that shape matters more because the electron geometry is just a way for us to see it on paper, but the shape is the actually position in space. Im not sure about the hybridization part.

also with ions make sure to write out the ground state configuration first so that you know to remove 4s electrons before 3d.

Re: Spin Magnetic Quantum
You can determine the spin based on how you fill the orbital. If the electron is pointing up then it has a +1/2 spin and if it is pointing down it has a -1/2 spin.

Re: Energy levels of orbitals?
I am pretty sure that the energy levels are s<p<d<f. I think this is because there are less n levels and so there are less electrons and energy at lower orbitals.

Normally you have to convert to the standard unit of measurement. Like grams and liters etc.
