Can someone explain why light and photons and such are taught in chemistry instead of physics? It seems like beams of light don't have that much to do with chemicals because photons are not chemicals. A little clarification would be really nice, thanks.

If you wanted to find out if a wave was a UV wave, a visible light wave, or an X-ray wave, would you look at wavelength, wave frequency, or the energy of a wave to figure it out?
