I am looking at question number two on the midterm and I am confused by the solution. For the ratios it says they are 1.4:1.2:1
To get 1.4 you divide the moles of co2 by the moles of o2
But to get 1.2 you have to divide the grams of H2O by the moles of O2
Why would you do this?

The answer key has the "ion" separate from the compound. For example, for ammonium chloride, NH4 is in brackets and outside of the brackets is the Cl- ion, can someone please explain this to me, thank you!

Coordination numbers are normally between two and nine. The number of bonds depends on the size, charge, and electron configuration of the metal ion and the ligands. Probably due to some very specific scenario(s) you could have one. But for simplicity and the sake of this class I would say no.

It depends on your TA, but I don't think it matters too much as long as you're doing problems from the recent chapters, and not repeating homework problems. I don't see there being a problem with you doing problems from chapter 3.

You can't treat these equations equally, in other words you cant just add an exponent or multiply by one half. If you tried to equate 1/2mv^2 it would look like 1/2pc^2. For this question why do we multiply by four? I know to find the frequency we multiply R by (1/n1^2)-(1/n2^2). But in the answer it is also multiplied by four. I think it has to do with z^2 in the question, but i'm still confused.

A lot of people seem to also be struggling between using the debroglie equation and kinetic energy. The equation you attempted to use does not allow us to solve for wavelength. The de broglie equation λ = h/mv, uses plancks constant, mass, and velocity to solve for wavelength.
