I got this wrong on the test but that’s okay.

Re: FINAL PRACTICE - Lyndon's Churro Review Session [ENDORSED]
Can someone explain 41c? I'm confused as to why the nitrogen with the lone pair can accept the proton but not the oxygen.

Will we have to write the molecules in reverse on the test so we know which lone pair is binding or did Lavelle just do that for the examples so it was more clear for us?

Does anyone know what he will ask about the chemo drugs? will it be more conceptual and like how the molecule is effective?

Re: Sigma bonds
For these sigma and pi bonds, is one bond stronger than the other? Or are they of equal strength?

Re: When to hybridized?
I think Lavelle said it would be more conceptual but I’m not sure if that means entirely conceptual or just similar to the homework problems.

Anjali_Kumar3E wrote:What is the steric number and why is it important?
To answer your question the steric number is the number of atoms bonded to a central plus the number of lone pairs on that atom. It’s used to help determine molecular shape using VSEPR

Are we going to be dealing with resonance structure and delocalized atoms on this Friday’s test?

Re: Is it best to memorize electronegativity?
I think it is important to know the general trend of electronegativity on the periodic table.

Re: Dipole moments
Certain Dipole moments will cancel each out when they are moving in opposite direction like when the attraction moves away from the center such as in CH4.

I'm not sure if it's the only way but it is the only way Lavelle has taught us in class.

Re: Induced dipole interation
It happens when an ion or dipole makes another atom or molecule a dipole that wasn’t a dipole before. They’re pretty weak forces.

Homework question 6.1
For this question it asks to list all possible intermolecular bonds and since hydrogen bonds are dipole forces should I list both? Or just hydrogen bonds?

Why will the energy emitted be positive if it's emitted won't it be negative because it's losing energy????????????

Ionization Energies
Ionziation energies increase going up and to the right so would Helium have the highest ionization energy?
