You use Pt when you have nonconducting solids! For example, if your cell diagram has two aqueous solutions, or solid that cannot conduct, you would use Pt.

Straight from Lavelle's website! "Test 2 covers all topics on Gibbs free energy and electrochemistry up to but not including the Nernst equation (which is all the new material covered in class Weeks 6 and 7). Test 2 starts Tuesday of Week 8."

Kw is always constant, and Ka*Kb=Kw, so if Ka increases, Kb decreases, and vice versa.

This is because CH2Cl2 is tetrahedral, so it doesn't actually cancel out perfectly like it appears to with its Lewis structure.
