You can choose any rates from the experimental data, as long as all rates you choose are from the same specific trial and not from multiple trials. As long as this is consistent then the value for the rate of consumption will be the same no matter which concentrations you select.

If the atoms have different electronegativities, this results in unequal sharing of electrons, which is polar. If the electronegativity difference equals zero, there is no unequal sharing and the molecule is nonpolar.

There are periodic tables that include an electronegative charge. Yet, for this class, I believe you do not need to know the exact charge, just know the general trend of electronegativity.

Make sure you divide since the units of Avogadro's number is mol^-1. If you multiply it will be incorrect.

It is graded for completeness. You can always work to solve the problem on your own and then check the solution manual to ensure your answer is correct.

As if there were not enough reasons already, simply when doing experiments you can always have solutions that are not properly mixed or finished being mixed. Leading to a nonhomogeneous solution.

I always try to balance the molecule that appears least first. These problems tend to be trial and error as you try to balance them.

On another note, make sure to wait until you get your final answer to round sig figs. In other words, do not round your sig figs in the middle of your problem.
