There will be 8 questions with subset questions, covering everything that we have gone over in lecture the past 10 weeks.

We have to memorize it. The only formulas/information that we don't need to memorize are the ones that have been provided to us so far on the exams (tests and midterm).

I'm pretty sure there isn't a curve for this class and that it's based on a point system. However, if you do get 50% (250/500 points), then this is the exception to earning a C-. He mentioned this in lecture once.

The last day of class is Friday of week 10 and our final is on Sunday. There won't be any classes scheduled during finals week except for any finals or review sessions.

The final will be cumulative, focusing on the latter half of the material we covered after the midterm and it will also include pre-midterm concepts, but not focused heavy on those topics.

Some people who don't have a strong foundation in chem like to take Chem BL after taking Chem 14B, but if you have a solid foundation in chem, then some people like to take it together because when they're studying for BL, they're also studying for B.

so if like we get a 65% what grade would that be since a 50% is a C for the final grade? You should just keep track of your points since the class is based off of a points system. If you didn't do so well on the midterm, you could make up the rest of the points based off of your final, Test #3, etc.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to submit homework from Outline 3 since we are barely covering VSEPR Models in class, so any of the chemical bonds stuff should be fine.

Going to office hours to see if you really really know the material and be able to teach it to someone else. Doing all of the modules and homework problems, especially since one homework problem will be pulled and incorporated into the test.

Each test/midterm/final does not receive a letter grade because your final grade is not accumulated until the end of the quarter. This class is based off a number of points and those points are calculated at the end once you receive all of your test scores from Week 1- Finals Week.

The number of points accumulated will be totaled at the end. So, while you may have done well on this first test, there are still 2 more tests, a midterm, and a final, as well as discussion and homework still to be factored.

The homework that he posted is only for the 6th and 7th edition, so I don't think the 5th edition would be helpful since the homework problems don't cover the 5th edition.

It's kind of something you just have to learn and get used to. It gets harder when it's a covalent bond, but I figured ionic bonds are easier to name.
