Re: Which ions do we have to memorize?
I believe we have to know the ions in the following link, since one of the UAs posted this and suggested we know them. https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... pounds.pdf You can access the post by searching up "Coordinate Compound Notes" and it should be like the first post to pop up. ...

Re: Chemistry Community [ENDORSED]
I believe that this is our last week of chemistry community questions since in the syllabus, chemistry community is listed as 3 points per week, for a total of 30 points. Therefore we only have to do it for a total of 10 weeks, with this week being our last and final week.

No, the class isn't based on a curve. From the syllabus: " Only at the end of the class when the class average score (out of 500 points) is known are final grades assigned. This class does not use a curve."

Re: VSEPR w/ more than 1 central atom
I think we are supposed to say the VSEPR model per atom. For example C2H4, both labels would be trigonal planar. If it was C2H3O-, then we would label the C's as C1 and C2. C1 would be trigonal planar while C2 would be tetrahedral. I agree. During my discussion section my TA did an example for a mo...

Re: Numbers to memorize [ENDORSED]
Constants like the examples you provided do not need to be memorized for they are given on an equation sheet with the test, however my TA recommended that we do memorize them just so that we don't have to constantly be flipping back to the equation sheet during the test.

I believe that hydrogen bonds are weaker than ionic and covalent bonds because a hydrogen bond occurs when a slightly negative molecule and a slightly positive molecule "attract" each other. Therefore, it is easier for the bond to break. On the other hand, in a covalent bond, electrons are...

Hz and s^(-1) are used interchangeably but it may be easier to use s^(-1) during calculations just to ensure that all the units cancel out by the end. The final answer would most likely then be stated using Hz.
