I think the short and direct answer to this question is no, the question will not always say De Broglie in it. You need to know the components of the equation to know when to use it.

I think the mass of an electron is negligible because they are so small, and that they behave more as particles than as waves. However, they are so small that they might be able to behave as waves pretty easily. In short I don't think a constant is necessary for the mass of an electron, but I don't ...

Re: Photoelectric Effect diagram

I don't think this part of detection is as important as the fact that it picks up on electron emission in the first place because we work more with the equations pertaining to how much energy is present on either side of the work function. However, this might be a good question for your TA or Dr. La...

Re: Ejecting electrons with no KE

The detector used in the photoelectric effect is slightly charged towards the positive, so even if the energy from the photons meets the threshold energy/work function the detector can pick up on electron emissions (or at least, that's what I interpreted from his explanation).

Re: mol-1?

Yeah, these two units of measure are equivalent because anything attached to a negative exponent is meant to be written as a fraction for example 10^-1 = 1/10. Thus, the -1 part of g.mol-1 means that this unit can also be written as grams over moles.
