For the midterm do we need to know how to find the relative lattice energies of solids (like example 3.2 in the 6th edition of the textbook)? I don't remember learning about this in lecture / don't see it in my notes but I just want to make sure!

i don't think so. maybe know the concept and generally what it is, but i'd say focus on main periodic trends like trends in atomic radius, ionic radius, ionization energy, and electron affinity for the midterm.

In example 1.4 of the 6th edition of the textbook it has you calculate the energy of a single photon and then the energy per mole of photons, so i think its important that you remember things like avogadro's number from test 1 because they're fundamentals and will probably show up again on other tes...
