Resonance Structures are basically just a set that compares and contrasts two or more Lewis Structures that represent a molecule.

Hi guys, I didn't go to lecture yesterday, but Lavelle sent out an email that said that he was going to mention when the other review sessions were going to take place. Can someone comment down below when the rest of the review sessions would be. thank you!

Re: Midterm Format

I don't know the format of the midterm, but I'm pretty sure it will be like Test 1 where you have to show your calculations. I know for a fact it will be longer than Test 1 since it is a midterm and it will cover what we are learning in Quantum and what we are learned in the beginning.

I don't think that you will need your bruin card for the tests that will be given in discussion sections, but you will for sure need it for midterms and the final exam. For the tests in discussion. just to play it safe, have your ID number memorized and you should be good to go. Good luck to you all!

Re: Test 1

It is most likely that molarity and dilution will be on the test since he covered a good amount of material on those topics on lecture. Maybe he didn’t talk about them as much in the module but it will definitely be on the test and well better to be prepared than not prepared!

Re: Fractions in front of compounds

A chemical equation always has to be balanced. In order for the whole chemical equation to be balanced when their is a fraction involved, you have to multiply the entire equation by the smallest factor to get all the whole numbers. Whole numbers are essential since it will make it easier for chemist...

Re: Fractioned Chemical Equations?

Yes you are correct. Whole numbers make the equation seem a little more sophisticated and easier for chemists to read. Just make sure to multiply both sides of the equation which won't affect the balance if each atom type.

Rounding [ENDORSED]

In all the empirical & molecular formulas questions in the homework, am I allowed to round? I see that if I round for example the moles of a certain element I get another answer than when I don't round. Can someone just notify me when its okay to round and when I shouldn't round.
