If for the triganol angles are 90,120,180 does that mean that see saws would also be <120 <90 and <180 ?

Practice Final naming coordinations

On today’s practice final question 8 on the naming I was confused on how to find pt’s oxidation state. I know there is an equation, but for example in part A anime is neutral and cl is a -1x2 -2 and the cl is a -1 charge so then how does that come out to be +4 for pt?

Re: Formal Charge

It is most favorable because formal charge is the charge assigned to an atom in a molecule, assuming that electrons in al chemical bonds are shared equally between atoms, regardless of relative electronegativity.

Re: Ground State

This would be right only because cu+ is an exception so instead of it being what you first assumed the 1 from the s would travel over to the d which would make it d^10 because of cu+ being an exception.

Re: Electron Configuration for 1st row transition metals

The only cases are just Cu and Cr because in these cases, a completely full or half full d sub-level is more stable than a partially filled d sub- level, so an electron from the 4s orbital is excited and rises to a 3d orbital.
