I get confused when trying to identify lewis acids. I know that the acid accepts electrons and the base donates electrons, but then I get confused because I don't know how it's actually working? if that makes sense? For bronsted, I feel like it's much simpler.

I am not quite sure how you would obtain an unhybridized orbital for hybridization. Take ethene for example, C is its central atom and its hybridization is sp^2 because of the three electron densities, but when writing it out where does the 2p orbital with an electron come from?

my TA was using the FC equation in class, but his differed to the one that Lavelle was showing in lecture. My TA used FC=V-(L+S/2*B) he stated that B is defined as bonding, but I was confused as to what we would use as an input for that variable B. Can anyone explain?

I'm confused about writing Lewis structures for polyatomic molecules. I understand how to calculate the number of valence electrons and bonds, but how do you know exactly where each atom should go? Like for acetic acid, how do you know what shape it's suppose to be?

Concerning when we do electron configuration, why does Lavelle put the d-orbital before the s-orbital? For example, if we're finding Arsenic it'd usually look like [Ar]4s2 3d10 4p3, however, Lavelle would write it as [Ar]3d10 4s2 4p3
