Re: Wave-like Properties

According to DeBroglies equation, the higher the mass, the smaller the wavelength and are more likely to have particle-like behavior.

Re: Mass of Electron

Electrons have a very small mass. Most of the mass of an element depends on the mass of protons and neutrons. The approximate mass of an electron is about 9.10938 x 10^-28 g.

Re: What does this even mean?

The purpose of Schondigers equation is to allow us to find how states evolve over time. However, this will not be emphasized in this course.

Re: Clarification with sig figs

It is best to hold onto a couple significant figures until the end. This will make sure your answer is the most accurate with the given quantities in the question.

Re: Unit Conversion

In order to easier remember how to convert, just think if the prefixes and number. For example, kilo would be 1000. Centi would be 1/100. Mili would be 1/1000.

Re: Fundamental m.19

Here are some of the steps you should take in order to get to your answer: 1. convert grams of CO2, H2O, and N2 to moles in order to have a universal unit you could compare the elements to. 2. break down the elements to the grams that were given in the question, break CO2 down by the mass given 0.68...

Re: HW question 2.17 [ENDORSED]

The quantum number of l corresponds to the shape of the orbital. Quantum numbers specify specific spacial qualities of an orbital. l=0 corresponds to the s orbital. While l=1 corresponds to the p-orbital, l=2 corresponds to the d orbital and l=3 corresponds to the f-orbital.
