Re: Midterm Format

The midterm will be Wednesday, November 6th from 6-8 pm. As for the format, I'd recommend looking at past exams.

I'm on the same page, I also need some good review and I've been using youtube as extra learning.

I don't think so, but they would be very helpful!

Re: Reading the textbook

I also find it intimidating to read the textbook for review, I find one way to motivate yourself to do so is to read a page then look up videos on that subject to make sure you understand it, and then continue reading.

Re: Midterm

Yes, the midterm is cumulative. I would also recommend reviewing homework problems and asking for old midterms to solve as practice.

I'd assume everything we have covered is fair game for the midterm.

Re: Final Grade

From the syllabus, we know the class is curved but it can only end up helping you. 50% or higher will be a C.

Re: Rusty on High School Chem [ENDORSED]

I haven't done chem since sophomore year of highschool as well but I think Lavelle plans for that and that's why so many opportunities for tutoring are available to us. We just have to take advantage.

Re: Best Sessions

I agree, going to step-up sessions is helpful. As well as TA office hours, AAP Peer learning, or learning from online modules.

I think if you make sure you have 5 posts a week before the deadline, you should have your full points

I would look on Lavelle's website! He has links to review topics and practice questions.

Re: Next Week's Test 1

I believe you lose a point if your answer is not in the correct sig fig format. However, since your TA creates the test, the leniency on sig figs varies.

Re: Formatting homework

For me, I clearly label the hwk problem and just solve the question. My header has my name, ID, and discussion section.
