Bond lengths in triple bonds are also shorter than double bonds and even shorter than single bonds. The more layers, the shorter the bone, and thus the stronger the bond will be.

I believe so, yes. You base it on electronegativity. If the difference is greater than 2 then it's more ionic and less than 1.5 it's more covalent.
