The terms monodentate/bidentate don't apply to a molecule like this, they only apply to coordination compounds (transition metal bonded to atom)

always use formal charge, and then try to create a structure that ends up with lowest formal charge/FC that matches the molecule. also try to arrange the molecule so that all the FC on each element is closest to 0

AsF5 is non-polar while AsF3 is so it has more attractive dipole dipole forces, therefore requiring more energy to overcome IMFs

Can someone explain to me the specialty case of Chromium? With it having 4s1 instead of 4s2? For chromium, there are 4 levels (1,2,3,4). For chromium, the configuration at first glance would be 1s2,2s2,2p6,3s2,3p6,4s2,3d4. As you can see, the 3rd energy level seems to be filled after the 4th. Howev...

E (empirical) comes before M (molecular) in the alphabet. Empirical formulas are the basis of molecular formulas and come before molecular formulas, just as E comes before M.
