reva_bajjuri wrote:for this problem, would you use the 4 sig figs in the conversion from joules to electo volts or are those not significant figures?
I believe you would use the sig figs from the value given in the problem (0.0431). Therefore, your answer should have 3 sig figs.

Re: Avogadro constant
When a problem asks for the number of photons, atoms, e.t.c you would use Avogadro's number

like everyone said, I usually don't worry about sig figs until I have my final answer!

I would keep it in m so that it cancels out with velocity(m/s)

Re: Midterm 1 Prep
Well I don't have an outline or a list of equations, but everything that we learned on Wednesday of week three and before that is fair game, which goes as far as the basics of orbitals. So in short, you should have a handle on these topics: Stoichiometry Unit conversion Dimensional Analysis Propert...

Re: Advice for studying
I've been doing all of the textbook problems and pre module quiz questions, and if I dont understand something I would go to peer sessions or rewatch the lectures! Khan academy is also really helpful.

Re: Mass with Wavelike properties
During lecture, Dr.Lavelle said that a wave is more likely to have particle like behavior given if the mass is higher and the wavelength is smaller. I don't really understand this concept. Can someone explain?

During one of the step up sessions, the ua said that we'd only need to remember the visible light spectrum (ROYGBIV) but I'm not sure!

Hi there! I think what part c is referring to is the slope! Once you draw it out, you can see that the slope of the wave is smaller after the frequency decreases.

The audio visual videos and step up sessions are super helpful! I like to plan out which questions ill do for the week, and if I need any help I'll refer back to the textbook or go to office hours!

Hi. I was really lost too until someone explained it to me. So looking at the problem, the given information is that we have 1.000g of caproic acid. We have 2.275g of CO2 and 0.929g of H2O. Step one would be to find the carbon in CO2. In order to do this, you must take the molar mass of carbon (12....
