yes that's exactly it. The ones Lavelle went over were bidentate (2 e pairs), tridentate (3 e pairs), and hexadentate (6 e pairs)

I think a really big part of relieving that feeling is affirming yourself that you did everything you could up until that point and you are as ready as you'll ever be for it. I always take 3 deep breaths before I start any test and find the problem I'm most confident in and start the test by working...

I would do the online modules and go through the problems assigned for homework. I believe all of the questions will be taken from there, so it's almost like an exact study guide. You would want the formal charge on the central atom to be closer to zero because its supposed to be the least electronegative. this confuses me bc in our discussion, our TA gave the example of PCl5, which has a -1 charge. Not my TA, but Ben said that so long that he can follow the mental process you took to find the charge, you'll get full points. Definitely check in with your TA, though. TBH, my rec is to just do the FC equation. Better safe than sorry.

yes! If it's possible, you're going to want the charges to be on the surrounding atoms rather than the central atom. I honestly couldn't tell you exactly why it's better, but it's better to not have a localized charge.

I'd say doing all the homework problems is the move, but if I was a TA I'd be annoyed if everyone gave me stapled papers with all their work rather than just one page with 5 problems that I could easily grade. The zeroes at the end of a number (past the decimal) signify more precision, so a measurement of 20.0000 ml (6 sig figs) is more precise than a measurement of 20.0 ml (three sig figs), even though to the layperson they would mean the same thing.
