Electron configuration order
When you write an electron configuration, does the order matter? For instance, in the homework question, it says [Ar]3d^3 4s^2, which is not in the order of 1s2s2p3s3p4s3d4p5s. Is there an any sort of rule you have to follow when you write an electron configuration?
