Heinsberg Uncertainty Equation Post-Module Question #18

Hi everybody, Here is the question as follows: The hydrogen atom has a radius of approximately 0.05 nm. Assume that we know the position of an electron to an accuracy of 1 % of the hydrogen radius, calculate the uncertainty in the speed of the electron using the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. So ...

Deriving the DeBrogile Equation

Hi Everyone, I know that Dr. Lavelle goes super in-depth when deriving equations, such as the DeBrogile, and I'm assuming he does so that we can get a better understanding of what it does. I was wondering how important it was for us to 100% know how to derive the equation. Is it fine if we have the ...

Wave Properties of Electrons Module q. 14

Hi everybody! I have a question regarding question 14. on the wave properties of electrons modules which is: When the trough of one wave interacts with the trough of another wave is their interaction constructive or destructive? The module says the answer is constructive, but I thought that when a t...

Midterm Exam

Hi everybody!

Do we know what the midterm is going to cover? Is it just going to be fundamentals and the quantum world?

Thanks!

Reading entire chapters before class?

Hi everyone! I have a question on whether I should read all the chapters and take notes on them AND then do the homework, or just do the homework while disregarding the readings. I heard that the quantum world is very conceptual, but it is a lot of readings that I would rather not do if it's not hel...
