Syllabus
In the syllabus, topics of study are just laid out without a timeline. I think it would be really useful to outline which topics are covered each week. This way, students will know exactly what topics are covered in class each week and will make it easier to study for tests.

TEST 1
I know that test 1 will cover "all the information taught in lectures and textbook information" but what topics and formulas exactly will we need to know for the test? I feel like I'm just studying "everything" and not focusing on specific essential topics.

Percentage Yield HW Question
Hi, I'm having trouble solving problem M1 in the homework. This is the equation given: 2NH3+ClO->N2H4+Cl+H2O. 35g of ammonia and an excess of hypochlorite ions were combined to create 25.2g of hydrazine. What is the percentage yield of hydrazine? I know that I must divide the mass of each reactant b...

Balancing Chemical Equations
Hello, I am having trouble solving problem H17 of the homework.
Balance C7H16->CO2H2O.
Since there is an oxygen atom in the product and none in the reactants, is it accurate/allowed to add oxygen atoms to the reactant?

Finding moles of one element in a compound
I'm having some trouble finding the moles of one specific element in a compound. For example, in homework problem E23b, find moles of SO3 in 7x10^2mgSO3. First, I converted 7x10^2mgSO3 into grams and got .7gSO3. Then I divided .7gSO3 by its molar mass, 80.066 and got .0874mol SO3. Is this method cor...
