I’m pretty sure it’ll be covering everything from weeks 1-10 :( And for those wondering, I’m sure it’ll be MC too, like exams 1 & 2

We’ll have the same amount of time for the exam, but I’m sure it’ll be enough to finish, since the questions will likely be shorter / less time consuming.

In order to be polar I believe the electronegativity needs to be between the 0.5 and 1.6 threshold. If it’s over this threshold it is ionic :~)

I’m not sure on the question count, but if it’s the same amount of points, I would say it’s around the same # of questions :) If anything, there might be more questions but worth less points each, or less questions but worth more points each. I think it’ll still be out of 110 points.

Determine the number of spectral lines that could appear when this electron returns to the lower energy levels, as we...

Hi, personally I don't think it is as helpful to know the names of the equations as it is to know how they work and when to use them. Of course knowing the names is a plus, but I wouldn't worry too much about knowing them off the top of your head, since they'll probably be given to us for the exams....

Re: Sapling Week 1 #8

You would want to first count up all the atoms of each element, in order to get the molecular formula. Once you have this, you can find the molecular mass by looking up the elements on the periodic table. You find each of their atomic masses, then multiply this with how many atoms of the element the...

Re: Balancing equations.

I like to just take a look at the reactant side (left) first, and count the number of atoms in the molecules. Then, I look at the products (right) and make sure the # of atoms is the same. If not, then you can get to balancing. I go ahead and add coefficients onto the molecules that need them, and t...

When you balance chemical equations, it is better if there are no fractions as coefficients. You can go ahead and multiply all the other coefficients in the equation by the denominator, to make it a whole number.

Re: Sapling HW #4

Hi! I was confused with this question at first too. After doing some research I learned that every number that is not 0 is considered a sig. fig. However, zeros ARE considered significant if they are in between two non-zero digits. So in 950000, only the 9 and 5 are considered significant, because t...
