Writing Equations

When we are asked to write chemical equations and they say _ gas, for example Nitrogen gas, do you always make it 2 like N2 and O2 when its a gas?

correction, your total energy is 3.89x10^-7, so you divide that number by your work funtion.

Re: Sapling HW Week 2, 3, 4 Question #7

Hi Maddie,
To find the number of electrons that could be ejected from the metal, divide the total energy of 7.23x10^-7 by the work function. That number will equal the number of photons, since the Js cancel out, and the number of photons is equal to the number of electrons.
Hope this helps!

Re: Photoelectric spectrum

In a step up session I went to the instructor said we won't get to have the chart on the test, but we will need to know which order they are in.

Homework Question 4

What is the maximum number of electrons that could be ejected from this metal by a burst of photons (at some other frequency) with a total energy of 7.23×10−7 J? What do they mean by the maximum number of electrons, and what equation do use to find the number of electrons?

Sapling Homework

Do we get points off for every attempt we do on a homework problem? Or do we get 100% as long as we get them all correct eventually?
