I definitely feel the same way sometimes, but I wouldn't stress too much about it! Grad schools want to see well-rounded applicants so if you're actively involved in clubs and organizations on campus I don't think a C will hurt you that much. :)

I understand, and feel the same way. At the beginning of the quarter I found myself making silly mistakes because I would write messily on my scratch paper. I'm getting into the habit of writing out each step I take to solve the problem very clearly and that has helped a lot!

I totally understand how you feel. It's important to not stress out though, just remember we still have MT 2 and the final exam, so there will be more opportunities to bring your grade up! Also, I think partial credit is being offered for MT 1, so that could help too.

Hi! You're right about the stoichiometry. You'll know whether to put a positive or negative sign in front of the X based on the direction that the reaction is moving towards. For example, if the reactants get used up, the change will be denoted with the negative sign in front of the X.

Sigma bonds are always single bonds, and occur when two orbitals interact end-to-end. Bound atoms can rotate in sigma bonds. Pi bonds are seen in double and triple bonds, and occur when two orbitals overlap side-to-side, which means the atoms can't rotate.

I take "rough" notes during the lectures. Later on, I'll go through my notes again and rewrite them, including more of the fundamental textbook problems that are listed on the outlines.

I think all chemical reactions would have a limiting reagent because there will be an excess of one reactant, meaning the other one will be completely used up and limit the amount of product that can be formed.
