Re: How are you studying?
I try to read the book on my free time and take extra notes on anything I might have found confusing during the lectures. During the weekend, I go over my notes to make sure that important concepts stick. I also work on the problems from the textbook and review the solutions to the sapling problems.

Re: Favorite TV shows
To try and recommend shows with scientific themes, Dr. Stone is a great show involving someone trying to rebuild society with science. There are numerous occasions in the show where the main character uses accurate chemistry in order to accomplish this. I highly recommend this show. I agree with th...

Re: Electron Shells
If I remember correctly, the n=4 only comes before 3d for the two elements under the s-block. From there it goes back to n=3 including the 4s that were previously used. However, like how the previous posts says, the n states how many subshells there are.

I would also like to know. My guess is only the final will be cumulative, but who knows.

Re: Work function
If the problem indicates that the kinetic energy of the electron is 0, then the energy you are finding would be the threshold energy or work function. In other words, you are finding threshold energy if you are just calculating the minimum energy required to eject the electron (no excess energy). H...

I am doing the modules and the textbook problems. When doing the textbook problems, I am paying close attention to things that confuse me and going over them.

Re: De Broglie's Equation vs C=wavelength(v)
The De Broglie equation and the speed of light equation may both have v but one signifies frequency and the other signifies velocity which becomes momentum when multiplied with the mass.

Re: Amplitude
It is only for wave models. The amplitude signifies the height of the wave. This determines the intensity of said wave which can be translated as brightness.

I believe you just need to be able to use the equations they give you in context with the questions they ask. As long as you know what they are used for I believe you should be fine. Also the homework problems and readings would be good to look over.

Re: Empirical and Molecular Formula
Is there ever a situation where the empirical formula would be used over the molecular formula? No. The empirical formula only formulates the ratio between the different elements in a way it is just a step to finding the molecular formula. However, they can be the same but your main focus, I believ...
