Re: Textbook vs Lectures vs Other Methods
I'm a current student! For MT 1, I watched all the audiovisual modules, lectures, and did the sapling. Honestly I felt like that could have been enough but I also did the textbook problems and went to a lot of the UA workshops. Overall, all of this combined made me feel super confident on the exam a...

Re: Test Anxiety
I have test anxiety and what i generally do is never study an hour before the test (some people say even 10 minutes) it just stresses me out even more. During that time, relax and take deep breaths--maybe go on a walk. You should accept the fact that you know what you know and scrambling before an e...

Hi! I'm not sure where you're from so it might be too cold but I love to study outside. During the pandemic it's vital to go outside and get some fresh air and I find that it stimulates my brain a lot more too.

Re: Sapling HW Q21
Electron affinity is defined as the change in energy (in kJ/mole) of a neutral atom (in the gaseous phase) when an electron is added to the atom to form a negative ion. That is why this question in involving the concept. It is basically asking for increasing electron affinity.

Two chemists go into a restaurant.
The first one says "I think I'll have an H2O."
The second one says "I think I'll have an H2O too" -- and he died.

Re: n1 and n2
N1 is basically the final energy level and N2 is the initial energy level. During a UA session, they even suggested writing nf and ni instead so that its less confusing. Hope this helped!

I would understand the general premise of each one and what they proved. The module post assessment questions generally cover that.

Re: using the molar ratio to find LR?
It depends on what the question is asking! Sometimes a question will ask what is the limiting reactant and then a follow up of how many moles or the mass of product produced. Hope this helps!

Helium walks into a bar,
The bar tender says "We don't serve noble gasses in here."
Helium doesn't react.

Re: Textbook vs Lectures vs Other Methods
I am a current student and I have found all of Dr. Lavelle's resources on his website are helpful. But since lectures are prerecorded, I really find the UA workshops the most helpful once I've completed the audio visual topics and the lectures. The UA sessions also include unique workshops so you ca...

You can find plenty on amazon for cheap but be sure to look carefully through the reviews especially the lower ones. I also think there are a lot with 5-10% coupons on amazon.

Hi! I got an iPad for college and I had a lot of trouble deciding if I wanted to invest that much money. I ended up buying one and an apple pencil and really love using both. I haven't had too much trouble for headaches and eye strain but I recommend blue light glasses. I think one of the best price...

I would recommend doing the audio visual topics and textbook questions if haven't already. I also think the UA workshop sessions are extremely helpful and there's a new worksheet for each UA so you can go to a bunch of sessions each week.
