A perfect system occurs when the heat the system losses is equal to the heat that the surrounds gain.
In this, we use the equation: qsys (heat of system) = -qsurr (heat of surroundings), where qsys + qsurr = 0.

Re: Trends in Periodic Table Tips
The easiest way I remember the trends of the periodic table is that atomic radius increases as it goes to the left of the period and down the groups. Meanwhile, the rest of the trends (electronegativity, electron affinity, and ionization energy) all go the opposite way, increase to the right of the ...

If a decimal point appears in a number, then all of the zeros in that number are included in its total amount of sig figs. For example, 2000000 would only have 1 sig fig because the number contains no decimal point, while 20.00000 would have seven total sig figs since there is a decimal point.

Van der Waals forces and London dispersion forces are basically synonyms of each other, and are used to describe the force of attraction between two dipole molecules.

Regular Show and Big Time Rush are my two favorite TV shows of all time. In terms of Netflix shows, I really enjoyed Series of Unfortunate Events (I also enjoyed reading all of the books when I was younger), as well as Lucifer because of its sarcastic humor.

In addition to that, what happens if we have a lab on that day? I assume that we might have to join another lab session instead but I am not sure.

The transition from the semester system in high school to the fast-paced quarter system in college has been a pretty difficult to get used to, but so far I am doing pretty well in my classes. I hope things have been going great for you as well, cheers to making it to week six!!

I got a pretty decent score on midterm 1, and what really helped me were the textbook problems in addition to the UA step-up sessions. Our UAs are so nice and smart, and will happily help anyone that has any questions. Furthermore, they also give out practice worksheets during these sessions, and a ...

In terms of gamma rays, they have the highest energy on the electromagnetic spectrum. With that being said, energy is inversely proportional to wavelength, and because gamma rays have such high energy amounts, its wavelength will in turn be quite small (usually around 10^-12 to 10^-16 m in length).

Re: How to find number of electrons
To find the maximum number of electrons that are ejected when given the total energy, you first need to find the value of the threshold energy. Because the threshold energy is in units of Joules per photon (Joules/photon), you divide the total energy by the threshold energy (in this case, your Joule...

When looking at this problem, remember that the atomic radius of an element increases as it goes down a group and decreases as goes across a period on the periodic table!!

I love revisiting my childhood by watching all of my past favorite television shows. Yes, threshold energy and work function refer to the the energy needed to remove an electron. Thus, the terms threshold energy, work function, and "energy needed to remove an electron" all mean the same thing (basically synonyms of each other).
