G is in in KJ same with H but S is in J/k or sometimes KJ/k
G is typically answered in kJ, and H is usually given in kJ. However, S is usually given in J/K instead of kJ/K, so be sure to convert the J to kJ before plugging it into the equation. Hope this helps!

Re: Short/high wavelength

Hi! Each photon must have sufficient energy to overcome the energy of an electron. Increasing the intensity only adds more photons, but doesn't change the amount of energy each photon has. That is why a higher frequency is needed in order to eject electrons and wavelength doesn't have much of an aff...

Re: Logic behind it

Hi! I am not 100% positive, but I believe this answer is based solely off of logic. Nothing can possibly move faster than the speed of light.

Re: formulas/equations

Hi! Professor informed us that we will be given a formula sheet and will not have to memorize equations. He believes it is more important to understand the concepts during the problem solving process.

Re: Respondus Tutorial

Hi! So, basically when on Respondus you are unable to exit that browser. This means that when you get to the zoom link, you have to deny the popup that says "open zoom app?" Instead, try clicking on the option down below written in blue that says "open zoom on browser." This shou...

Re: Molarity written with (aq)

As of now, I don't think you have to worry about writing the phases. That is not a topic we have covered yet and professor said that we would go into detail about it sometime in the future. If it makes you feel any better, I have never seen it after a molar concentration value either!

Re: Significant figures when using scientific notion

Yes! Basically, you want to use the same amount of sigfigs as the value given in the problem with the least amount. If the given values were .0062, 5.098, and .76345, your answer should only contain 2 sigfigs. Hope this helped

Re: difference between empirical and molecular

After calculating the empirical formula, you can use the periodic table to calculate its mass. If the directions are telling you to find the molecular formula, they should have given you a mass for that compound. If you divide the mass of the molecular formula by the mass of the empirical formula an...

Re: Textbook question E.1

Im not positive that this is correct, but if I were to approach this problem I would multiply 6.022x10^23 by twice the length of the radius. I believe that would give the length of the nanotube. Hope I could help.

Re: Sig figs and molar mass

I usually use the entire value that's given on the periodic table. This is so that I can get a more accurate answer, avoiding round-off error. Once your final value is calculated you can adjust the answer to the amount of sig figs for that specific problem.
