Re: Bond Dissociation

So the longer the bonds are the less dissociation energy the structure will have?

Bond Dissociation

How would we determine which element has a stronger bond dissociation energy ?

Re: Study Tips for Final Exam

Step up sessions are really really useful! After not doing so good on the first midterm, I started attending more and I was able to fully grasp more concepts I was having troubles with.

Re: Covalent Character

Okay so something with MgS and MgO which would have the most covalent character ? Would the Charges come into play at all?

Covalent Character

Hey y'all on the midterm 2 there was a question asking which element had the most covalent characters and I was just wondering what did that mean.

Re: Midterm 2 content

Hi! Based on the homework that was due week 6, it seems like this midterm's content is not as focused on calculations but rather concepts and drawing Lewis structures. I would refer to the outline posted on Lavelle's website to know exactly what we should study, though. Lavelle also has office hour...

Rajshree 1B wrote:BeCl2 is a Lewis acid because the central electron can still accept electrons because of its Lewis structure. Be is bonded to Cl on both sides but there are still empty spaces where Be can accept electrons.

Thank you that makes more sense !

Lewis acid and Lewis bases

Hello, I was having trouble with identifying the difference between a Lewis base and Lewis acid for sapling problem 6 in weeks 5. How do I figure out what is what when given a formula like BeCl2 for example ?

Re: Favorite TV shows

My favorite T.v. show definitely has to be regular show, and I recently went back to rewatch the show and it seemed like it was better watching it at my age right now. Definitely a good show overall.

Re: How to use Scientific Notation

When multiplying two numbers in scientific notation, multiply their coefficients and add their exponents. When dividing two numbers in scientific notation, divide their coefficients and subtract their exponents. If you remember from math where we were taught how to multiply and divide with exponent...

How to use Scientific Notation

When working with scientific notations, what are some rules when it comes to multiplying and dividing them? Especially when it comes down to the exponents.
