Write the half reactions and the balanced equation for the cell reaction for each of the following galvanic cells.

(a) Ni(s)|Ni2+(aq)||Ag+(aq)|Ag(s)

On the solutions manual it mentions that the E°(cathode)=+0.80V and E°(anode)= -.023. I was wondering how these values were found?

Chem 14A Final

I was curious as to how the final is going to workout since the final is on a Sunday from 11:30-1pm. Can we take it any time within the time frame or is the final 1 hour and 30 mins long? Also would we have to join our TA's zoom on the day of the final?

Grading Scale Chem 14A

On the syllabus it says we need 50% or higher to pass the class with a C- or higher. Would a 90% account for an A-, 78% for a C+, and so on?

Re: Week 8 Chem 14A Friday Lecture

I think the only reason we had a lecture on Veteran's Day was to give everyone at least a week before the midterm because if the lecture was skipped then Outline 3 would end on Friday giving Tuesday testers only 3 days to prep where they would have 5 days in advance to study. However, we do not hav...

Week 8 Chem 14A Friday Lecture

During veteran's day we still had a lecture for that day and I was just wondering if we will be having a lecture on Friday of week 8. I believe Thanksgiving Holiday is from Nov. 26-27, which is why I am curious if we will have a lecture video for that day.

Drawing the formula unit

In the textbook, it asks us to write the formula unit for lithium nitride using lewis symbols, but it does not give us the formula (Li3N) for the midterm would we be given the formula for a similar problem or would we have to find it using the periodic table?

Acids & Bases in MT2?

During the past 2 lectures, Dr. Lavelle has been talking about acids and bases, but he mentioned that we wont cover those topics until weeks 9 &10. However, since he's mentioned them in his past 2 lectures, does that mean that we will be tested on them for midterm 2?
