Re: Staying Motivated
I’m very reward oriented, so to motivate yourself to watch the lectures or do homework I recommend giving yourself little gifts when you complete the tasks! For example if you watch a couple of lectures and do the work problems, then you get to order a pizza or do a facemask or something you enjoy.

Also, if you don’t remember how many posts you did last class, you can look through the dates of your post, and try and find the first post of the quarter and then start the count from that post.

I remember it as every bond has at least one sigma bond, and then the rest are pi bonds so:
Single bond = 1 sigma bond
Double bond= 1 sigma bond + 1 pi bond
Triple bond= 1 sigma bond + 1 pi bond + 1 pi bond
Hope that helps!

Hi there! It is because H2CCH2 and H2CCCCH2 both have even numbers of carbon molecules. Each H2C is on one plane and then switches to the perpendicular plane at the next element, so if they both have even number of bonds the hydrogens are on the same plane. It’s kind of confusing, I don’t know if I ...

Hi, I believe it means that the pi bond can move around to the other bonds because of resonance, so it is not permanently in the one location, therefore delocalized.
