A good way to do this is to remember the valence electrons that correlate to each column. You can also write them on your periodic table to help you memorize. then you do the simple math and you then can tell the formal charges.

I do not know where to find help for Sapling question 7 I have tried solving it 15 different times and every single time it tells me that it is wrong. I have no clue what the answer is and I do not know how to get to it. Its the last question I have left.
