I know the work frequency equation is threshold frequency times the plancs constant. I was wondering if solving the threshold frequency equation is E=hv. Then you multiply it with the plancs constant in order to get the work function?

Is it aqua if it is directly connected to the coordination compound while it is called hydrate if it is not? Is there anymore examples of like differing names compared to the original atomic name?

I was wondering why HF would stabilize the anion the most and be the strongest acid because I thought Hf would be the weakest because it is the hardest to break and would not disassociate as easily as the other ones listed in the chart?

For the x-y-x question on the homework with two lone pairs on each side of the y why would that be a bent I thought the two lone pairs would cancel each other in force and it would make it a linear shape?

For stronger intermolecular forces are you looking for the larger molecule because it has more electrons=stronger bonds while for intramolecular forces you would look for the smaller molecule so it can be pulled in closer?

You are suppose to use E=hv with protons because they do not have mass thus the m is missing from the equation. While for E=1/2mv^2 is used for electrons or anything else that has mass and most of the time in the problem they either give you the velocity or the mass which is a huge giveaway to which...

Yes you are correct that for the Lyman series it has to drop down to the 1st level and for the Balmer it drops to the second electron level as the end result. Also if it is dropping that means energy is being emitted.

For me I just use the equation and plug in for delta p and delta x with delta x usually being the diameter away from the atom and delta p equaling m and delta v usually. I think if energy is being released you need to make the value positive because it is releasing it and not consuming energy which is implied with the negative. I remember in a step up session my ua said the value is always positive because the energy is being released. Hope this was helpful!

I also thought that E=hv is the bridge but it also implies that it can stay between levels which is definitely not true it can only be at like n=1 or n=2. So just being cautious of that implication and you should be good.

A formula unit is in a sense the chemical compound it seems with the least amount of elements so I thought of it as the simplest chemical compound and minimum number of elements in it. So it can also be called the empirical formula.

Yah because it is measuring the electrons thus it needs the vacuum because the gas particles can affect the photoelectric effect by colliding with the electrons. This can mess up the experiment thus a vacuum is needed.
