One of my favorite books is The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen!! I definitely recommend it; it was one of the most impactful reads I've had. Others would be Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse and On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong.

I think for me, finding other hobbies and doing stuff I care about with friends to balance out the stress of school has really helped just keep me sane.

I've found myself really enjoying doing core yoga and feeling the burn as I'm holding the poses. It's definitely helped with mindfulness in general too.

I personally found MCD BIO 50 a pretty cool GE to take. Its focus is on stem cells and the ethics behind research/procurement/etc. I definitely really loved the professor (Dr. Lee) too!

The Step-Up and UA sessions tend to help a lot of people! Also forming a study group and going over practice problems together, explaining the rationale and actually verbalizing and having questions explained might help too. Good luck with studying!

I think using the Pomodoro technique and making yourself a strict regimen can help! It provides you with breaks (I use 50-10) and has you on a schedule so studying is less aimless. Personally, the feeling of having a trajectory and a set time of studying helps me a lot in staying focused.

I honestly devote a good amount of time studying per week for this class. I think 9-10 hours? I try to read the textbook and do the textbook practice problems, and then I spend time reviewing what I might've done wrong and need to process and learn better.

I definitely feel the same. One of the way's I've been able to combat this is just planning everything out as well as possible, and setting little goals as well as little breaks for myself. The Pomodoro technique can be useful as well! Don't overwork yourself. Wishing you the best!

I think the cut off for A- is 92.9% and above is an A :) I think that goes for the rest of the letter grades too. _2.9% being a - and above being an A.

Yes, you can use any calculator (last quarter they preferred scientific but graphing is fine too) and then you will need to print the equation sheet on his website and the specific periodic table he has. They usually let you have 1-2 pieces of scratch paper (depending on the TA) and other than that...

I'd assume so. It's what occurs naturally and unless they say otherwise I/F/O would all be diatomic.

I think a general accepted range for approximation is between 10-4 to 10-10, where you can assume they values are small enough. However, I agree, with the second reply in that if you aren't sure you can always use the 5% rule.

Hi! I also agree that it's pretty important considering it's used in calculating so many qualities of acids and bases. Definitely something worth remembering! My TA said that he'd probably provide everything we need for an question on the exam though, but I still think it's safer to memorize it.

I believe Kp is used for gasses, but if conversion is necessary using PV = nRT is really helpful! n/V being concentration.
