Re: Achieve week 9/10 #12
When I did this question I used the formula was the 2nd order half life equation of t1/2= 1/(k[A]o). By manipulating the variables I go the equation k=1/(t1/2*[A]o). From there I plugged in the half life and the initial concentration in order to get the answer for k.

Re: Formal charge on the central atom
The formal charge on the central atom does not need to be 0 but it is best to try to make it 0. There are many molecules like N20 which the central atom is a nitrogen has a plus 1 charge

Re: Inter vs. Intra
Intermolecular forces happen between molecules such as dipole-dipole, dipole-induced-dipole, and such. Intramolecular forces happen inside the molecule such ionic or covalent bonding

Pi bonds occur in double and triple bonds. So double bonds have 1 sigma and 1 pi bond and triple bonds have 1 sigma bond an 2 pi bonds

Re: trends
Larger atoms have a lower electronegativity because the outer electrons are so much farther from the nucleus causing the nucleus to have less pull on electrons of another atom.

Re: Bond angle
Yes that is correct. The shape of the molecule does determine the bond angle. For example, trigonal planars have bond angles of 120 degrees. Bilateral pryamidals have bond angles of 90 degrees and 180 degrees.

Re: Covalent bonds
Covalent bonds are similar to ionic bonds in the sense that in some cases there is an unequal share of the electrons in covalent bonds that causes the electrons to be closer to one atom than the other. This unequal share is very similar to ionic bonding in the sense that in ionic bonds the electrons...

For study music, I tend to switch it up a lot depending on the time of day and the mood Im in. So if the homework or studying is not urgent or it is night time then I will tend to play Lofi music or indie pop music. But if i am in a rush and need to get it done or its morning or the afternoon I will...

Re: Achieve Due Dates [ENDORSED]
In the syllabus we have the outlines for each unit. It doesn't necessarily tell us when we will get to each unit or when we will finish each unit, but at the end of each we have to submit the achieve assignments. When we get near the end of the unit till probably give a due date on achieve.

"c" represents the speed of light. Like someone else had stated the "vacuum" portion is just used for ideal conditions, because in different scenarios like in water the speed of light can change because water is a different medium for light to travel through.
