These replies were extremely helpful. I also like to leave my dorm and take walks around campus to clear my mind, sometimes it even helps me to think of ideas when I'm struggling with my assignments. Whatever we stress about won't be a permanent feeling, it'll get better eventually:)

A good way I remember that Bronsted refers to protons and Lewis refers to electrons is to remember that Lewis structures show the electron arrangement. :)

Yes, you use the noble gas that's closest to the total amount of electrons for the element without going over the amount, then the remaining electrons are still represented by the same configuration.:)

I also was having issues with this problem on the last homework assignment. When it says my structures are wrong but I'm confident the structure is correct, I always then check my formal charges:) sometimes simple math is the easiest area for mistakes since we don't think much about it.

At first I was also confused especially when seeing so many signs at first glance, I interpreted it as a greater than sign as well, since that's what I was used to when working with the symbol:)

I mostly use the textbook to go over topics that I need more explanation for to complete the homework, since I noticed the lectures don't cover every single term that the homework focuses on. Plus it can also be good for practice problems.

I've actually asked my TA in discussion section what he best reccomends for rounding, and he told me to try to only round at the end of the problem since the more often you round in a problem, the further away the answer gets from being most accurate.

I actually did not know this either, but now it makes sense. When referring to viscosity the terms sound close to their meanings. (Low) viscosity means it's more of a (liquid) and (high) viscosity means it's (harder) to pour. L,L and H,H. Idk but thats what helps me remember it lol.

Yes, this is very possible. One example is formaldehyde which has the molecular formula CH2O, and glucose which has the molecular formula C6H12O6 and therefore the same empirical formula as the formaldehyde.

Thank you for explaining this problem, it was so helpful and I found the simple mistake I made. I accidentally divided the 510 gr by .0545 instead of multiplying the two amounts.

I had wondered the same thing and so I actually asked my TA this question. He recommended that you don't round any solutions until the very end, since the more often you round your answers during the problem, the further away your answer will be from the actual amount.
