Re: electrochemistry HW
KClO3 K is in group 1 of the periodic table so ON = +1 O always has an ON = -2 except in peroxides when it is -1 Cl can have variable ONs so we must figure it out. If K is +1 and O is -2, and there are 3 oxygens, we have +1 and -6. That's a net of -5. So Cl must be +5 in order for KClO3 to be neutra...

Re: ACHIEVE q 20
Dr. Lavelle said in a lecture that in 14b we should not be worried about A in the Arrhenius Equation being k=Ae^−Ea/RT. In case it does show up, we can assume that A=1. For question number 20, we do indeed cancel the A out though.

Re: n and lnQ doubled in redox reaction
Looking at the Ernest question ( E= E(knot) - (RT/nF)lnQ. If the redox reaction is doubled, the n and ln(Q) are also doubled because of the fact that Q becomes squared. This is because we have to understand that from doubling the redox reaction, Q is no longer equal to [P]/ [R] but, equal to [P]^2/ ...

Using the Ernest question ( E= E(knot) - (RT/nF)lnQ. E(knot) is the standard potential for the cell and is considered a given or calculated constant in the equation, therefore, not changing.

Not entirely, an isothermal process is when the temperature of the whole system does not change throughout the reaction. An example of this could be a ice cube melting in a system with a constant temperature of 0 degrees.
