Lewis Structure

Is there a guideline you have to follow when doing Lewis Structures with multiple elements? For example, H2C(NH2)COOH.

Re: Text Book Problem 2.29 (d)

I see. So if you're given the quantum number "l" like in problem "a" then there would be 6 electron because it specifically asks for that orbital?

Text Book Problem 2.29 (d)

How many electron can have the following quantum numbers in an atom: n=2 To find 'l' you use (n-1) which gives you "1" that makes it a p-orbital (0,1). 'ml' is -1,0,1. That means that there are 6 electrons that can have that quantum number. But the book answer says there are 8 electrons. H...

Quantum Numbers

If the n (principle quantum number) is 3, then l (angular momentum quantum number) is 2. Which is a d-orbital. Where is the d oribtal when you have something like a 3s3p^3?

Resonance

A Lewis Structure that can be drawn differently but still be correct is Resonance? For instance a central atom can have one double bond with any of the three atoms surrounding it. Like in the Course Reader example on page 80.
