Line Structures for Haloalkanes
When drawing the line structures for haloalkanes, do we draw a bond attaching the halogen atom to the carbon atom or do we just write it next to the carbon?

Re: Clarification on Heat Capacity and Specific Heat Capacit
Hi, Yes, heat capacity is an extensive property, meaning that the heat required to increase a substance by 1 degree Celsius depends on the amount of substance. However, specific heat capacity is an intensive property, so it is not dependent on the amount of substance. The specific heat capacities fo...

Writing out a Coordination Compund
If I were to write the formula for tetraamminechloronitrocobalt(lll)chloride, how do I know in which order to write the ligands? Does the order matter? For example, [Co(NH3)4(NO2)Cl]Cl vs. [Co(NO2)(NH3)4Cl]Cl?

Re: Naming in textbook problem 29. d)
It is not incorrect to put mono-, it just isn't used commonly. It is similar to the way we write the term x in math instead of 1x. We just assume the 1 is there.

Re: hybridization
Hybridization allows one to understand why a molecule has sigma bonds or pi bonds and gives a better representation of how the orbitals are interacting with one another, so it should not be considered as a revision, but as a visual tool of what is actually taking place.

A solution is prepared by dissolving 0.500 g of KCL, 0.500 g of K2S, and 0.500 g of K3PO4 in 500. mL of water. What is the concentration in the final solution of (a) potassium ions; (b) sulfide ions?
Thanks!

This question is from the Wave Properties of Electrons and The DeBroglie Equation Module Assessment: When neutrons pass through a crystal is a diffraction pattern observed? I'm not sure whether neutrons display a diffraction pattern or not.
